Twitter Hit by Cyber Attack The social media giant Twitter says it was hacked this week, in a sophisticated cyber attack that exposed the passwords and other information of as many as 250,000 users. The company said in a blog post on Friday that it detected attempts to gain access to its user base early in the week and shut down the attack moments after it was detected. Twitter said it reset passwords and that it is in the process of notifying affected users. Unlike the New York Times and Wall Street Journal newspapers, which said they were attacked by Chinese hackers this week, Twitter did not provide any information on where the hacking had originated. The company said it is working with government and federal law enforcement officials to track down the attackers. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/twitter-hit-by-cyber-attack/1595790.h tml References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/twitter-hit-by-cyber-attack/1595790.html
