Three Men Guilty in Bolshoi Attack A Russian court has found three defendants guilty of carrying out an acid attack on the artistic director of the famed Bolshoi Ballet. The court in Moscow Tuesday ruled the troupe`s soloist, Pavel Dmitrichenko, and two co-defendants were guilty in the January 17 attack on Sergei Filin. Filin`s directorship was a coveted position in a company plagued for years by infighting. Prosecutors have asked for sentences of six to 10 years for the three defendants. The judge, who found the men guilty of causing "grievous bodily harm" to Filin, is expected to issue sentences later Tuesday. Filin was treated in Germany for damage to his face and eyes following the attack. He lost some sight in each eye. Several artistic directors have left the Moscow-based ballet company in the past few years because of internal strife. Russian media reports have suggested that Dmitrichenko ordered the attack because he was upset that his girlfriend, also a dancer with the company, was not getting starring roles. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/three-men-guilty-in-bolshoi-attack/18 02349.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/three-men-guilty-in-bolshoi-attack/1802349.html
