Israel Intercepts Missile Fired from Egypt Israel has shot down a rocket fired from Egypt toward the Red Sea town of Eilat, days after militants blamed Israel for airstrikes that killed four fighters in the Sinai Peninsula. The Israeli army says it intercepted the rocket early Tuesday, but did not give details on where the rocket originated. It says no one was injured. An Islamist militant group says it fired the rocket in retaliation for what it called a cross-border attack Friday by Israel. Israel has denied the accusation, while Egypt says its forces were responsible for firing a missile at militants. The northern Sinai region has seen an increase in militant activity since the 2011 popular uprising that forced former President Hosni Mubarak from office, and again following the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi last month. __________________________________________________________________ [1]http://www.voanews.com/content/israel-intercepts-missile-fired-from- egypt/1728593.html References 1. http://www.voanews.com/content/israel-intercepts-missile-fired-from-egypt/1728593.html
