NATO Foreign Ministers Meet in Brussels NATO foreign ministers are meeting in Brussels for talks expected to focus on the conflict in Syria and the withdrawal of alliance forces from Afghanistan in 2014. NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, commenting on Syria, said, "We cannot ignore the risks of regional spillover with possible implications for allied security." Earlier this year, NATO deployed Patriot anti-missile batteries along member Turkey`s border with Syria, after several villages were hit by artillery fire. On Afghanistan, the coalition will continue to work on defining how it will support Afghan forces after 2014. Tuesday marks the first time U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with his NATO contemporaries.
