Ghana Shopping Mall Collapses by VOA News A multi-story shopping center has collapsed in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, killing at least three people and trapping many more under the rubble. Police estimate that 30 to 50 people were inside the mall when it collapsed Wednesday morning. An officer says that so far, three people have been pulled out alive. Hundreds of civilians, police and army personnel are digging through the rubble, looking for survivors. There was no immediate word on what caused the collapse. The mall was built just last year. President John Dramani Mahama has cut short a campaign tour in the north of Ghana to return to Accra.
