The Survey says the quake happened Monday shortly after midnight local time, 15 kilometers southeast of Ica and 280 kilometers south-southeast of Lima, at a depth of 39 kilometers. Officials said nearly 100 people suffered minor injuries. There were no reports of deaths or major damage. In 2007, Ica was devastated by an 8.0 earthquake.
