                4 NY Firefighters Shot While Responding to Fire

   Officials in New York State say two firefighters were shot to death
   Tuesday and two others were wounded as they responded to an early
   morning house fire in Webster, a suburb of Rochester.

   A hospital spokesperson said two firefighters were being treated for
   gunshot wounds, and said they were in guarded condition.
   The gunfire stopped attempts to put out the fire which spread to
   several other homes. Officials evacuated other homes in the area.
   Police say they believe the gunman is dead at the scene, and that their
   investigation into the incident is continuing.
