                    Pakistani Extremist Leader Held in Jail

   A Pakistani court has ordered a two-week detention for a prominent
   Islamist militant.
   Malik Ishaq, the head of the banned Sunni Muslim extremist group
   Lashkar-e-Jhangvi organization, appeared in court Friday in the eastern
   city of Lahore.  He was sent to the city's Kot Lakhpat jail.  He was
   accused of making a "provocative" speech earlier this month that
   promoted sectarian hatred.
   Ishaq had been released from prison last year, after serving 14 years.
   He had faced accusations of masterminding sectarian murders and
   organizing from behind bars, the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan cricket
   team in Lahore, in which seven people lost their lives.
