Public opinion polls in Argentina suggest President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will post a convincing victory over her six opponents in Sunday's election. President Fernandez de Kirchner needs at least 45 percent of the total vote, or 40 percent of the vote along with a lead of at least 10 percent over her closest opponent to avoid a runoff and win her second four-year term as president. Also at stake in Sunday's election are 130 seats in Argentina's lower house of Congress and 24 seats in the Senate. Fernandez de Kirchner - a former economy minister - is expected to benefit from Argentina's current economic growth and her leadership in steering the country past its financial crisis in 2001 and 2002. Fernandez de Kirchner has vowed to dedicate her second term to the memory of her late husband and predecessor as president, Nestor Kirchner, who died of a heart attack a year ago.
