   Officials in western Afghanistan say two suicide bombers have attacked
   an Italian compound in Herat.
   The number of casualties was not immediately clear.
   The compound houses an Italian provincial reconstruction team,
   consisting of military and civilian workers who help build up Afghan
   government capacity in a province.
   No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
   Violence has spiked across Afghanistan since the Taliban announced at
   the beginning of May the start of a spring offensive.
