Officials say the blast happened early Tuesday at the mine in the town of Sabinas, in the state of Coahuila. It is not clear whether there were any fatalities in the explosion. Authorities say one other person lost an arm in the blast. Rescue workers are on the scene, but authorities say the presence of methane gas is hindering their efforts to reach the miners. Local news reports say the facility belongs to the mining company BINSA. In 2006, an explosion at another mine in Sabinas left 65 miners dead. The bodies of most of the victims in that accident were never recovered. Some information for this report was provided by AP, AFP and Reuters. .
