Obama and Cameron were expected to discuss ways the U.S. and Britain can assist anti-Gadhafi rebels in Libya and how best to assist fledgling democracies in Egypt and Tunisia. Addressing both houses of Parliament, Obama is expected to say that the U.S. and Europe must together play a lead role in global security. His speech comes just a day before a Group of Eight summit in Deauville, France where he will meet with other leaders of major industrialized countries. On Tuesday, the U.S. president and Britain's Queen Elizabeth exchanged toasts to British-American friendship during a lavish banquet at Buckingham Palace. Obama and his wife, Michelle, also met privately with royal newlyweds Prince William and his wife, Catherine. Obama arrived in London Monday after a stop in Ireland. He heads to France Thursday for the Group of Eight summit and to Poland later this week for talks with Central European leaders. .
