William's tour also included earthquake-damaged Christchurch and cyclone- and flood-affected communities in Victoria. During his visit to the northeastern state, the prince met privately with residents of Grantham, who lost loved ones when a flash flood nearly wiped the town off the map in January. He also attended a country music festival in Toowoomba Sunday and met the family of 13-year-old Jordan Rice, who sacrificed his life in a flash flood so his little brother could be saved. William has insisted on meeting people as informally as possible during his first official visit to the region. Some information for this report was provided by AP and AFP.
