Prince William toured the center of the city, which was hardest hit by the magnitude 6.3 earthquake last month. He saw damaged buildings and met with emergency crews. The earthquake killed at least 166 people, and authorities say Christchurch sustained $11 billion in damage. Prince William is set to travel Thursday to the town of Greymouth to meet with the families of 29 miners who were killed in a coal mine explosion last November. He is scheduled to attend a memorial service for the earthquake victims in Christchurch on Friday before leaving to visit flood-damaged areas of Australia.
