The officials said four Iraqi security guards and three civilians were wounded in the blast in the central part of the city. In the northern Shaab district, authorities say a car bomb killed one person and wounded four others. Meanwhile, in southern Baghdad, police say gunmen using silenced weapons shot and killed a policeman. Violence in Iraq has eased since the height of sectarian clashes in 2006 and 2007, but attacks including roadside bombings remain common.
