The president's office said Saturday that a hero's burial was out of the question, but Aquino had yet to decide whether Marcos' body should be given full military honors. Marcos, who died in exile in Hawaii in 1989, was an army officer during World War II. His remains were brought to his northern Philippine hometown in Batac in Ilocos Norte in 1993. Marcos was swept out of office in 1986 in a "People's Power" revolt that put President Aquino's mother, Corazon Aquino in power. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and Reuters. .
