   French President Nicolas Sarkozy is paying homage to seven French
   soldiers killed last week in Afghanistan.
   A somber ceremony held in Paris Tuesday was also attended by French
   military leaders.
   Last week was one of the deadliest for French troops during their
   involvement in the Afghan conflict.
   The French government will begin a troop drawdown in 2012 ahead of the
   2014 withdrawal of all French troops from Afghanistan.
