Clinton Set for Five-Day Visit of Persian Gulf Nations

   The  U.S.  State  Department  has  announced  that  Secretary of State
   Hillary  Clinton will depart Saturday for a tour of three Persian Gulf
   nations  to  promote  political  reform  and discuss regional security
   concerns.
   The  five-day  visit  will  include stops in the United Arab Emirates,
   Oman and Qatar.
   A  state  department  official  says Clinton will meet with government
   officials to discuss "a full-range of regional and bilateral issues."
   In  Qatar,  Clinton  is  to  participate  in the seventh Forum for the
   Future, a U.S.-backed effort for political reform in the Middle East.
   It  will  be  Clinton's second trip to the Gulf in as many months. She
   participated  in  a  global  security  conference  in Bahrain in early
   December.
