Mexico Seizes Drug Catapults on US Border VOA News January 29, 2011 Mexican authorities have found another medieval-style catapult that drug traffickers are using to fling their goods into the United States. Mexican security forces discovered a catapult Thursday in Agua Prieta, a border town near Douglas, Arizona. Last week Mexican authorities seized a drug catapult in Naco, near Tucson, Arizona. Officials say the the catapulting operation in Naco was recorded on National Guard surveillance video. Authorities say the Guard passed the information along to Tucson's border patrol, who alerted Mexico. Officials say more than 20 kilograms of marijuana was found at the site. Mexican drug traffickers have already been caught using remote-controlled planes, rail cars in ventilated tunnels, semi-submersible vessels, and hidden compartments in vehicles to smuggle drugs into the United States. .
