Roadside Blast Kills 9 in Afghanistan VOA News 16 January 2011 Afghan officials say a roadside bomb in northern Afghanistan has destroyed a car carrying nine people to a wedding. Sunday's explosion in Baghlan province killed everyone in the vehicle. In southern Afghanistan, officials say a minivan hit a roadside bomb, killing six civilians and wounding three others. That blast happened Saturday in the Sangin district of Helmand province.  Elsewhere in Afghanistan, NATO says Afghan and coalition forces killed two armed insurgents and captured two suspected militants Saturday,  NATO says the troops were searching for a local Taliban leader when they came under fire in Nerkh district in Wardak province, east of the capital, Kabul. .
