Massive Cairo Protest Calls for Mubarak's Prosecution

   Thousands of Egyptians protest in Cairo's central Tahrir Square, the
   focal point of Egyptian uprising, to demand the prosecution of ousted
   president Hosni Mubarak and his regime, April 8, 2011

   Tens of thousands of Egyptian activists gathered in Cairo's Tahrir
   Square Friday to press for reforms, including demanding the prosecution
   of ousted president Hosni Mubarak.
   While demonstrators regularly gather in the square, Friday's protest
   was one of the biggest turnouts since the popular revolution overthrew
   Mubarak on February 11. Protesters held a similar demonstration last
   week.
   Since his ouster, Mubarak's family assets have been frozen and his
   family remains under house arrest in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of
   Sharm el-Sheikh.
   The protesters also are calling for the removal of former regime
   officials from the new government.
   Leaders of Egypt's pro-democracy movement are concerned about what they
   see as the continuing influence that members of the ousted
   administration still have in the military-led government.
   This week, Egyptian state media announced that authorities have
   detained several former ministers, as well as Mubarak's former chief of
   staff Zakariya Azmi, while they investigate corruption allegations.
