At least three policemen were killed and six others injured in a bomb explosion, police officials said, April 21, 2011 Officials in eastern Afghanistan say a bomb planted on a minibus has exploded, killing three policemen and wounding six others. The blast happened Thursday in Jalalabad as the bus was traveling to a police training facility. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Also in the east, NATO said a roadside bombing killed one of its service members on Wednesday. It did not give the exact location of the attack or the service member's nationality. NATO said Afghan and coalition forces killed 17 insurgents Wednesday while searching for an al-Qaida leader in Kunar province. It said during the operation security forces returned fire at a group of people standing in a doorway, killing one of the insurgents and "two women he was hiding behind."
