A rebel spokesperson told the Reuters news agency that forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi fired at least 100 Grad rockets into an industrial area of the city Saturday. He said no casualties are reported. Human Rights Watch said Friday that government forces had used cluster bombs in residential areas of the city, posing "a huge risk to civilians." Cluster munitions explode into numerous smaller explosives that can cause widespread and indiscriminate destruction. They have been banned by most countries because they are so imprecise and dangerous. Libyan authorities denied the accusations. Government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim challenged the rights group to "prove it." The claims came as Western leaders in the NATO coalition vowed Friday to continue its military campaign until Gadhafi steps down. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and Reuters.
