Independents Tony Windsor and Robb Oakeshott announced Tuesday that they will support the center-left Labor party. Earlier in the day, independent Bob Katter threw his support behind the opposition conservative party, called the Liberal Party.  The support of Windsor and Oakeshott brings Labor to the 76 seats in parliament it needs to form a minority government. Last week another independent, Andrew Wilkie, sided with Ms. Gillard. The outcome of the Australian election on August 21 produced the first hung parliament since 1940. Some information for this report provided by AP, AFP and Reuters. .
