A spokeswoman at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport says Mr. Carter was met by rescue crews when his plane landed and taken to the hospital. The [1]Carter Center in the southeastern city of Atlanta, Georgia, says the former president developed an upset stomach during the flight and has been resting comfortably. Mr. Carter was due in Cleveland to sign copies of his new book, White House Diary. He is 85 years old and served as U.S. president from 1977 to 1981.
