In his weekly address, President Obama said nothing could be more detrimental to American society in the 21st century than failing to give U.S. children a world-class education. The president said his administration has set a goal to graduate a higher proportion of students from college than any other country in the world by 2020. Mr. Obama announced a new public-private sector partnership to match community college graduates with businesses that have job openings. Â The U.S. leader said Republicans want to cut education spending by 20 percent, but Mr. Obama said he is not willing to "shortchange our children's education."
