The popular hosts of late-night political satire shows, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, are leading the "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" Saturday. Organizers of the event near the U.S. Capitol building insist the show is not about politics, but the event was expected to draw a politically activist audience. The U.S. holds midterm elections on Tuesday.  Saturday's event follows a rally on the National Mall in August that was organized by conservative media commentator Glenn Beck. His "Restoring Honor" event near the Lincoln Memorial was mainly about religious faith and focused on paying tribute to U.S. military personnel. A few days ago, U.S. President Barack Obama appeared on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show. Despite the satirical nature of the show, Mr. Obama made a serious pitch for people to get out and vote on Tuesday. Political analysts say President Obama hoped to reach out to young voters through his appearance on Stewart's show. Some information for this report was provided by AP, AFP and Reuters. .
