Al-Jazeera Slams Morocco's Suspension of its Operations

   The  Al-Jazeera television network has denounced Morocco's decision to
   suspend the channel's operations in the north African country.
   A  report  on  Al-Jazeera's website Saturday cited a network statement
   saying  the closure of its bureau in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, will
   not change the channel's editorial guidelines.
   Al-Jazeera  said  its  coverage  of  Moroccan  issues  has always been
   professional, balanced and accurate.
   Morocco's  government  suspended  Al-Jazeera  on  Friday  and withdrew
   accreditation  for  its staff, citing "numerous failures" that it said
   went against the rules of "serious and responsible journalism."
   Moroccan officials said Al-Jazeera's reporting had distorted Morocco's
   image. One official said authorities disagree with the way the network
   handles issues of Islamists and the Western Sahara.
