The storm, with maximum sustained winds near 120 kilometers per hour, moved slowly at seven kilometers per hour over Cuba's tobacco fields as it headed northeast. Forecasters said it would move later in the day over Cuba's north coast. At last report (1200 UTC), the U.S. [1]National Hurricane Center said Paula was centered 215 kilometers west of Havana. Heavy rain could fall in parts of Cuba, with up to 25 centimeters in the western and central regions.
