Authorities say the bomb exploded Tuesday as a patrol vehicle passed through the town of Dera Ismail Khan. Doctors at the town's main hospital said at least two children and three policemen were among those killed in the attack. Authorities say the blast targeted a local senior officer who had been involved in operations against the Taliban. The French news agency quotes a Pakistani Taliban spokesman as saying the group was responsible for the attack.
