   site of bomb explosion in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, 18 May 2010

   Pakistani police say a bomb planted on a bicycle in northwest Pakistan
   has killed 12 people and wounded at least 10 others.
   Authorities  say  the bomb exploded Tuesday as a patrol vehicle passed
   through the town of Dera Ismail Khan.
   Doctors  at  the  town's  main hospital said at least two children and
   three policemen were among those killed in the attack.
   Authorities say the blast targeted a local senior officer who had been
   involved in operations against the Taliban.
   The  French news agency quotes a Pakistani Taliban spokesman as saying
   the group was responsible for the attack.
   Dera  Ismail Khan is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, formerly known as
   the North West Frontier.
