Gun, Bomb Attacks Kill 15 in Iraq VOA News 10 May 2010 Officials in Iraq say at least 15 people were killed during a wave of shootings and bomb attacks targeting police and military personnel. Officials say gunmen using automatic weapons attacked six checkpoints in east and west Baghdad, killing seven Iraqi soldiers and policemen. In the southern part of the city, two people were killed in at least two separate bomb explosions targeting police officers. At least 26 people were wounded in the coordinated attacks. In the western province of Anbar, at least four bombs were detonated outside of the homes of police officers leaving four people dead, and several injured. Those attacks took place in and around the city of Fallujah. Also in the northeastern city of Mosul, two Kurdish soldiers were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb near a checkpoint manned by Iraqi and Kurdish forces.
