Witnesses say Israeli troops and tanks left Gaza Saturday. Israeli officials say the troops moved into the Gaza Strip Friday, after observing Palestinian gunmen planting a bomb on the border. Israeli General Yoav Galant said soldiers crossed the border to dismantle the bomb. He said the troops were ambushed, sparking a fierce exchange of gunfire. Hamas said its members opened fire after Israeli forces advanced about 500 meters into Gaza. The fighting killed two Israeli soldiers and at least two Palestinian gunmen. This is among the worst violence in Gaza since Israel's offensive against Hamas in late 2008.  Some information for this report was provided by AP and Reuters. .
