Suicide Bombers Kill 39 in Pakistani City of Lahore The blasts targeted military vehicles in the city VOA News 12 March 2010 Pakistani police say 39 people have been killed and nearly 100 others wounded in two suicide bomb blasts in the eastern city of Lahore. Authorities say the explosions occurred 15 seconds apart and targeted military vehicles in the city Friday morning. Polce say the suicide bombers were on foot. The incident is the second attack in Lahore this week. A suicide car bomb killed 13 people and wounded 70 others on Monday. In a separate development, a Pakistani official Jamil Soomro says apparent sectarian violence in the southern city of Karachi killed five people Thursday. Gunmen fired on a car carrying hardline religious leader Mufti Saeed Jalalpuri, killing him and three other people in the vehicle. Earlier Thursday, gunmen shot and wounded Mulana Nadim Ghafoor, the local leader of a banned Sunni militant group. His son was killed in the shooting.
