Uganda's VP, Foreign Minister Named in Corruption Probe VOA News 08 June 2010 Uganda's public prosecutor says the country's vice president and foreign minister are subjects of an ongoing corruption probe. Vice President Gilbert Bukenya and Foreign Minister Sam Kutesa are among several top government officials listed as under investigation for abuse of public funds. Â Both are implicated in the theft of up to $27 million that was reported missing during Uganda's hosting of the 2007 Commonwealth heads of state summit. Â Uganda began investigating the missing funds after Western donor countries threatened to slash aid if the country did not get serious about curtailing widespread corruption. A Ugandan parliamentary panel concluded in a probe earlier this year that several ministers were guilty of using public funds for personal gain. Some information for this report was provided by AFP. .
