Google Ends Rerouting from China to Hong Kong

   Internet   giant  Google  said  Tuesday  it  will  stop  automatically
   redirecting Chinese users to an uncensored site in Hong Kong.
   Google's  chief  legal  officer, David Drummond, said on the company's
   blog   that   Chinese   government   officials   found   the  practice
   unacceptable,  and  continuing  to  redirect  users would threaten the
   renewal of Google's Internet Content Provider license.
   The  U.S.  web giant effectively shut down its Chinese-language search
   engine  in  January  because  of  censorship  and  cyber  attacks, and
   automatically re-routed users to the Hong Kong site.
   Google's license is up for renewal Wednesday.
