Car Bombs Kill 18 in Baghdad VOA News 20 June 2010 Map of Mosul, Iraq Iraqi officials say twin car bombs have killed at least 18 people and wounded more than 40 in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. Iraqi police and hospital officials said the car bombs exploded within minutes of each other Sunday near the headquarters of the Iraqi Commercial Bank and a government office that issues identity cards. In another development, Iraqi police officers found decomposing bodies of several women Saturday in Baghdad's eastern Zayouna neighborhood. The incidents follow a wave of violence across Iraq in recent days that has killed at least 20 people. Some officials fear insurgents may trying to derail recent security gains by taking advantage of the political deadlock that followed Iraq's March elections.
