'Red,' 'Memphis' Win Tony Awards

   The  play  "Red"  was  the  big  winner  this year at the Tony Awards,
   Broadway's equivalent of the Academy Awards recognizing achievement in
   American live theater.
   "Red,"  a  drama  about  abstract  painter  Mark Rothko, picked up six
   awards, including best play. Â
   "Memphis,"  a musical set in the American South during the 1950s, took
   four Tonys, including the best musical prize.
   Three  Hollywood  actors  took home their first Tony, including Denzel
   Washington, who won best actor for his role in a revival of the August
   Wilson play "Fences."
   Scarlett  Johansson  was  awarded a Tony as best featured actress in a
   play in the revival of Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge."
   Catherine  Zeta-Jones  won  best actress in a musical for her Broadway
   debut in "A Little Night Music."
