Embassy spokesman Paul Patin told reporters in Paris Friday that mailroom handlers identified a "suspicious letter," and that those who were in contact with it are being tested for poisoning. The embassy statement says the envelope also is being analyzed by a laboratory. French authorities have been summoned to investigate the case. The embassy remained open for business and reports say there were no signs of heightened security. Some information for this report was provided by AFP, AP and Reuters. .
