She was placed in handcuffs Tuesday after a brief hearing in Beverly Hills, California. Lohan will serve her time at a women's jail, where she will be kept in isolation and will have to wear a standard prison jumpsuit. She is expected to serve much less than the full 90-day sentence. That is due, in part, to the massive overcrowding found in prisons in California. Lohan had been on probation since 2007 because of drunk-driving and drug-possession charges.  A judge ruled earlier this month that Lohan violated her probation by missing multiple court-ordered alcohol education classes. The 24-year-old rose to fame at age 11, when she starred in a remake of the classic film The Parent Trap. She is also known for her more recent roles in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.  Some information for this report was provided by AP and Reuters. .
