Explosions Reported Outside Mosque in SE Iran VOA News 15 July 2010 Iranian officials say suicide bombers have attacked near a mosque in the southeastern part of the country, killing an unspecified number of people. State-run Iranian media said two explosions shook the main mosque in the city of Zahedan late Thursday. Officials say several people were wounded in addition to those killed. Zahedan is the capital of Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan province, which borders Pakistan and is home to a large Sunni Baluch minority within Shi'ite-led Iran.  The province is also home to the Sunni Muslim militant group Jundallah, or Soldiers of God. Iran blamed Jundallah for a mosque bombing two months ago that killed 25 people in Zahedan. Last month Iran executed the group's leader, Abdolmalek Rigi, after convicting him of terrorism. Jundallah claimed responsibility for an October bomb attack that killed 57 people, including several members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards. Iran has accused the United States of funding Rigi's militants in Jundallah in an effort to destabilize the Iranian government. Iran says Jundallah is based in Pakistan. The United States, Britain and Pakistan all have denied backing Jundallah. .
