   French  President  Nicolas  Sarkozy  greets  U.S.  Secretary  of State

   U.S.  Secretary  of  State  Hillary Clinton arrived in Paris Friday to
   meet with the French officials and give a speech on European security.
   Clinton  met  with  French President Nicolas Sarkozy before delivering
   her speech at France's military academy.
   Clinton  told  reporters  her  speech  will address the ever-expanding
   definition  of  "European  security,"  as  NATO  reviews its goals and
   strategies.
   She  said  the  traditional  definition  of  security as deterrence is
   obsolete   and  is  broadening  to  include  threats  from  terrorism,
   cyber-security and disaster mitigation and response.
   Clinton  said  these  concepts  were  not  part  of  the original NATO
   platform.
