Israeli Gunfire Reportedly Kills 2 Palestinians in Gaza

   Israeli  military spokeswoman says that the Israel army had nothing to
   do with the shooting

   Palestinian  medical  officials  say  two Palestinians in the northern
   Gaza Strip were killed by gunfire from Israel Sunday.
   But  an  Israeli  military  spokeswoman  says that the Israel army had
   nothing to do with the shooting.
   The  incident comes two days after Israeli warplanes fired missiles at
   several open fields in the Gaza Strip.
   Military  officials  said the strikes last Friday targeted a series of
   tunnels  into  Israel. They said Palestinian militants intended to use
   the tunnels to carry out terrorist attacks.
   Hours  before  the Israeli strikes last week, Palestinian militants in
   Gaza fired a mortar shell at Israel.
   Israel launched a military offensive into Gaza just over a year ago to
   stop  cross-border  rocket  attacks  by Hamas militants.  The fighting
   killed at least 1,300 Palestinians and 13 Israelis.
