Deadly Bomb Attacks Rock Karachi VOA News 05 February 2010 Pakistan mourners Photo: AFP Pakistani Shiite Muslims mourn at the site of a motorcycle bomb attack on a bus in Karachi, 05 Feb 2010 Pakistani authorities say two bomb attacks killed at least 20 people in the southern port city of Karachi Friday. Officials say the first blast tore through a bus in a Shi'ite Muslim community, killing at least 12 people and wounding 40 others. Police say the blast was caused by a motorcycle laden with explosives. Later in the day, a huge explosion hit the hospital where some of the wounded were being treated. Officials say the blast near the hospital's emergency ward killed at least eight people. Karachi has seen an upsurge of ethnic violence in the past week, with at least 26 people killed.
