Feds: NY Terror Suspect Plans Plea Deal VOA News 22 February 2010 Federal officials in Brooklyn say an Afghan immigrant accused of conspiring to attack New York City with bombs will plead guilty as part of a deal with prosecutors. Najibullah Zazi was arrested in Colorado last year and transferred to New York, where he was charged in the alleged plot. Prosecutors say Zazi received explosives training from al-Qaida in Pakistan and had purchased components necessary to make explosives. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Brooklyn says Zazi is expected to plead guilty Monday. Zazi's father, Mohammed Wali Zazi, was charged in New York with conspiring to destroy or hide materials that could be used to make explosives. Prosecutors agreed to release him on $50,000 bail. Najibullah Zazi's uncle and two high school classmates have been arrested and charged in connection with the case. .
