Biden Rejects Cheney's Criticism Regarding War on Terror VOA News 14 February 2010 U.S. Vice President Joe Biden says former Vice President Dick Cheney is either "misinformed" or is "misinforming" the public in his criticism of the Obama administration's commitment to fight terrorism. In an interview Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press, Vice President Biden said Cheney is trying to rewrite history. Former Vice President Cheney has been a leading Republican critic of the Obama administration's handling of national security. Cheney has said President Barack Obama is pretending the U.S. is not at war with terrorists, and he says as a result Americans are less safe. But Vice President Biden says the United States has been more successful at killing al-Qaida leaders during the Obama administration than it was during the years President George W. Bush and Cheney were in the White House. Biden said U.S. forces have eliminated 12 of al-Qaida's top 20 leaders. The vice president also criticized the war in Iraq saying it has not been worth its price and it cost the United States support from other nations around the world. Former Vice President Cheney fired back at Biden in a later televised interview on ABC's This Week. Cheney said for the Obama administration to take credit for success in Iraq is strange and he said "it ought to go with a healthy dose of thanks to George Bush." .
