Special security forces detained Yury Lutsenko on Sunday as he was out walking his dog. They put him into a van and drove away. Ukraine's state prosecutors office has charged Lutsenko with abuse of office and embezzling state funds. Lutsenko has dismissed the charges, which he claims are politically motivated. Lutsenko was a member of former Prime Minister Tymoshenko's government. Now a leader of the opposition, Tymoshenko also has been charged with corruption, and has been ordered not to leave the country. Tymoshenko also has denied the accusations, which she says are part of a political attack by current President Viktor Yanukovych. Former economy minister Bohdan Danylyshyn also is facing criminal charges. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and Reuters. .
