Photo: AP British model Naomi Campbell, 1 Jul 2010 British supermodel Naomi Campbell has told the war crimes trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor that she accepted a pouch containing a few "dirty looking stones" that she assumed was from him. Taylor is accused of supplying weapons to rebels during Sierra Leone's civil war in return for so-called "blood diamonds" - the term used to describe gems mined and sold to finance armed conflict. He is alleged to have given such a diamond to Campbell, after meeting her at a 1997 dinner in South Africa hosted by Nelson Mandela. During her testimony, Campbell said the stones were given to her by some men following the dinner but they did not specifically tell her the gift was from Taylor. Prior to Thursday's testimony at a court in the Hague, Campbell had denied receiving any diamonds after meeting Taylor.  A former Campbell agent, Carole White, and actress Mia Farrow say they have knowledge of the gift. The two have voluntarily agreed to testify on Monday.  During testimony Campbell told the court she had never met Taylor prior to the dinner in 1997. She also said she had no contact with him after receiving the gift.
