A Lebanese security official said Tuesday that one Lebanese soldier and one civilian were wounded. A Lebanese army spokesman said the clashes erupted after Israeli soldiers tried to remove a tree from the Lebanese side of the border. U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon are urging both sides to exercise "maximum restraint." A spokesman for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said its immediate priority is to "restore calm" at the border region. U.N. peacekeepers patrol southern Lebanon to monitor a cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah militant group. Hezbollah and Israel fought a 34-day war 2006. The conflict began when Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and killed others in a cross-border raid. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and Reuters. .
