FBI: Threat Against San Francisco Plane Not Credible VOA News 19 August 2010 Photo: AP American Airlines passenger jet sits on runway at San Francisco's International Airport after being stopped due to a threat, 19 Aug 2010. The FBI says a threat made against a commercial jet set to take off from San Francisco International Airport was not credible. U.S. authorities stopped the New York-bound American Airlines flight from taking off early Thursday after the phone threat was made and held the plane on the tarmac at the airport in San Francisco. Witnesses say two passengers were taken off the plane in handcuffs after the threat was called in. The Associated Press reported a U.S. law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity said a bomb threat caused authorities to stop the flight from taking off. A San Francisco police official, Sergeant Michael Rodriguez, said all passengers were removed from the plane and brought back to the airport terminal for re-screening.
