Mr. Sarkozy's office said the 54-year-old president was examined by a doctor and was undergoing medical tests. The French news agency quotes a witness as saying she had seen a jogger surrounded by bodyguards stumble and collapse while running outside Paris near the Palace of Versailles. A white helicopter arrived and departed the scene a short while later. A Sarkozy aide said the president was taken to a military hospital in Paris and said the illness was considered minor. An official statement was expected later Sunday. Mr. Sarkozy, who took office in May 2007, was briefly hospitalized in October of that year for treatment of angina.
